When you hang it in a sunny spot, light pierces the rich blue glass to cast vibrant, shifting reflections—a daily reminder of freedom, vision, and the timeless wish to fly.
I begin by wrapping an 8-inch ring with white macrame cord. Inside the ring, I suspend a macrame web, creating the structure to hold the glass and birds. I craft the glass from cobalt blue water bottles, tumbling and drilling each piece in my studio. I then hand-tie every piece individually, securing it with a blue glass bead. I add porcelain birds to embody the grace and weightlessness of flight. The cascading lower strands mirror the rhythm of feathers, while delicate porcelain bird charms pull the dream of soaring into tangible form.
