MURDER OF CROWS handcrafted tree of life

"A Murder of Crows" — A gathering or flock of crows symbolizes community, collective wisdom, protection, and shared strength through mystery. Far from being dark or ominous, people revere crows as some of the most intelligent, adaptable, and mysterious birds in animal lore.

My design begins with a 10-inch circular ring that I wrap with warm beige macrame cord. Suspended inside, a rich brown tree trunk gracefully anchors sweeping macrame branches, creating the structure to attach the glass and charms. I source the glass from discarded green bottles, then tumble and drill it right in my studio. Light shines through the rich green glass leaves, illuminating delicate pink flowers, red apple accents, and glossy black crows perched throughout the branches. I hand-tie each piece individually, securing it with a green glass bead. Below the main ring, a fan-shaped array of roots flows downwards into a graceful fringe accented with earthy pale green beads, giving the piece a grounded, organic feel.
