YULETIDE CAT IN THE MOON handcrafted glass suncatcher.

Yuletide celebrates the rebirth of the sun—a warm reminder of light, hope, and renewal during the darkest time of the year. Combined with a cat perched peacefully on a glowing crescent moon, this piece symbolizes intuition, contentment, and finding quiet harmony high above everyday earthly chaos.

I begin by wrapping a 10-inch circular metal ring with warm tan macrame cord. Inside the ring, I suspend a macrame web, creating the structure to hold the vibrant red, green, and golden-amber glass. I craft the glass from red and gold plates and green discarded bottles, tumbling and drilling each piece in my studio.  The glass and detailed gold-toned cat-on-the-moon and snowflake charms are hand-woven into the netting and secured with gold beads. Five delicate strands cascade from the bottom, adorned with layered glass fragments and metallic accents that catch the light from every angle.
